Kindergarten Art
Clay Dog: Expression before learning
Kindergarten art is really good. It's got a genuine expression that begins to get replaced by all the rules we get taught later on.
It's odd that we spend much of our lives, and maybe a lot of money on therapists or whatever, trying to get back the ability to express we started with. Somehow it gets lost in our rules learning process. It's hard to get back. If we ever do.
This is a family piece that's been around for generations. The best guess is it's a dog, but I'm not sure that's important.
My first piece of clay art was three eggs in a nest. I worked really hard at it so I got to use the gold paint for the eggs. I don't know when this piece of art got lost, but I still remember the gold eggs in the blue nest.
